A new agreement was reached at the Glasgow Climate Summit to prevent dangerous climate change. For the first time in history, it contains a clear plan to reduce the use of coal, the fossil fuel that produces the most greenhouse gas emissions.

The agreement calls for more urgent emission reductions and promises more money for developing countries to help them adapt to climate change. The document is designed to limit the temperature rise to 1.5 ° C.
It is noted that the commitment to phase out coal, which was included in previous draft negotiations, has not received general support.
In the end, the countries agreed only to “gradually reduce” and not to “give up coal.” Summit President Alok Sharma said he was “deeply sorry” for the turn of events.
Under the agreement, the countries pledged to meet next year to promise further significant reductions in carbon emissions to reach the 1.5 ° C target. Current promises, if fulfilled, should limit global warming to 2.4 ° C.
If global temperatures rise by more than 1.5 ° C, the Earth is likely to suffer serious consequences, such as the effects of extreme heat on millions of people.
Developing countries were also dissatisfied with the lack of progress on the concept of “loss and loss”. It is the idea that richer countries must compensate the poorer for the effects of climate change to which they cannot adapt.
