October is the time to prepare skis for winter vacation. However, the question is: did the officials build a ski slope for tourists? After all, if in winter, in the midst of the winter season, like snow on your head, we will “fall” lockdown, what no one knows.

Are they preparing for such a scenario in the Carpathians and will the tourist “get” money?
In the Carpathians now the off-season is when some vacationers have already left, and others have not yet arrived. However, winter is near. And while in the mountains they are waiting for the snow like heavenly manna, the goose and the goose, who are engaged in tourism, are putting things in order before the monetary winter period.
Tyzhnya how the new building is being completed, others brag about how they are currently undergoing a “defectoscopy of one of the lifts”, some have attempted repairs, and some are only slightly raising prices due to anti-epidemic measures…
Now the Carpathians are surprisingly good. As well as not bad at all, it appears, was last winter season.
“Globally, I will say that the winter went very well. And we did not feel any catastrophe in the mountains for tourism,” – told TSN. The owner of the estate in the Carpathians, which is conveniently located between several resorts, Mikhail Boreychak.
New Year “sold”
Mr. Mykhailo says ; Tyzhnia that everything has already been sold in his estate for the new year: “Because there is a demand.”
His family-run hotel rises in the village of Yablunytsia, a few kilometers from a large ski resort. The resort is open, and the private business of the peasants around lives. Even in a lockdown, like last year.
Mykhailo Boreychak is happy that last winter did not “fail”. There were lockdowns, but the tourist did not go anywhere. On the contrary. Across closed borders, people were forced to seek refuge in the Ukrainian Carpathians. Already this winter, the flow of vacationers is likely to weaken, because Europe has opened up. But Mr. Mikhail expects it to be no worse than last season: “It would be the class itself!”.

Earlier Mikhail Boreychak rented out his estate separately by numbers. They are double and triple. Nine in all. Five on the first floor and four on the second. But the pandemic has made its adjustments. Now the house – only one, maximum, two companies.
“Rent the whole house for the New Year – 10 thousand hryvnia. Not for the New Year – six thousand, seven and a half thousand,” – says Mr. Michael.
According to him, this price includes a mandatory gift for guests: “Homemade jam, moonshine, mushrooms” “.
Active preparation of Carpathians for winter speaks better than themselves. In the area of Dragobrat TSN. The week was last year and I specifically visited to check now: how did the winter go and what is the next one waiting for?
“During the January lockdown, the ropes were allowed to work. All restaurants were open. And the hotel was allowed to have breakfast and dinner with room service.… A certain percentage of people on the ropes were added. other seasons “, – the owner of a tourist and sports complex Petro Grapenyuk .
For rest there is everything: three cable cars, a day restaurant, a sauna, but there is no road. Is that – a mountain road, where, according to Peter Grapenyuk, several times a year “bury” hundreds of thousands of hryvnia.
In October here – combat readiness for the holiday season – preparation of cable cars, “marafet” in the rooms. And for the guest it is the start of booking.
“Last year, our two-room suite cost UAH 2,200. Now it will be around UAH 2,800. The price includes two meals a day. And a bonus – a 20 percent discount on lifts,” .
Another stop is Yaremche. Mr. Roman grows trout here and immediately treats guests to it. There are guests even now, in the off-season. The goose does not worry about last winter either. He says he was a tourist. But what to expect this season, if suddenly the lockdown, hopes only for higher powers. And certainly – not on officials.
How will it be this winter? Cold shower for vacationers or warm bath?
By the way, to warm up the bones (it is at least two hours) in a hot tub in the village of Tatariv, which was visited by TSN.Tyzhden, costs 1300 hryvnias. It’s not the season. In winter – it will definitely be more expensive. As far as? The owners do not know yet. As well as not fully guessing whether to have a new, “quarantine” to take vacationers.
Actually, this is the main thing that interests everyone here. After all, if there are no clear answers for business now, will tourists dare to come here later?
Rest – only for the vaccinated?
“We hope that the season will be. After all, we comply with all quarantine requirements,” – told TSN.Tyzhnya head of reception and accommodation of the resort “Bukovel” Alexander Tsurul.
Here, too, even in the off-season – a full house of tourists. There is a long queue to the observation lift. And n
about the neighborhood masters arrange another lift, already for future skiing. Parallel to the lifts, a small all-terrain vehicle in just 10 minutes takes a tourist from the resort civilization to almost deserted. According to the resort accommodation service, there is a local highlight “glamping” (glamorous camping).
“Luxury” tents here two dozen. The thing is nice to be alone and isolated. Only, as it turned out, all this good will really work no earlier than next year. At the moment, guests are welcome in classic hotels.
“Both last year and this year, prices start at about UAH 2,000. This is a budget room with breakfast and a loyalty program… If you take January, we already have a load of more than 50%,” Oleksandra Tsurul told TSN.Tyzhnya.
If you celebrate the New Year, then, for example, an eight-bed hut will cost about 35 thousand. And, by the way, such chalets for the New Year are almost all booked.
But I wonder if tourists will “get” money in the event of a lockdown? The resort promises that the money is kept by the guest. “And guests can use them throughout the year,” says Oleksandra Tsurul.
That tourists won’t lose money, TSN. Week convinced everywhere where we managed to visit. In some places they are even willing to return the prepayment two weeks before arrival.
Who will save the winter season
Another half a thousand kilometers from the Carpathians, in Kiev, TSN. This is terribly interesting for business, as well as very confusing for tourists. But the Ministry of Health did not start skiing. Like, winter is still very far away.
The only thing they say that both the tourist and the tourist business can be guided by now is the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers №1236.

This is a document in which the tourist is supposed to have to somehow explain what will happen if the Carpathians are in the “red” quarantine zone. He seems to explain: no restaurants, except for takeaway food, no swimming pools, saunas. Suspended cable cars will stop. The hotel is taboo … However, everything is not so scary if you read in small letters: “these prohibitions do not apply if 100% of employees and visitors are twice vaccinated against coronavirus or have a negative PCR test.”
So, is there a way out? Or not?
“Who should do it? Because we do not have the authority to check a person’s documents. I think the situation will be such that no one will be able to check thousands of people,” – said the owner of the tourist and sports complex Petro Grapenyuk.
“If a person has booked, how do I know if he is vaccinated or not?”, – the owner of the estate Mykhailo Boreychik wonders.
And not only this worries the ski business. Still – what exactly and how exactly to check anticode certificates at visitors? Currently, the police have special applications, at least according to reports. Cops also have the authority to verify these certificates, because they are the official authority. And who will consider just an entrepreneur?
“What are my legal grounds for evicting people without vaccination?” Mykhailo Boreychik asks.
Even the resort giant has more questions than answers. “Now we do not require PCR tests or vaccination certificates. But how it will be – time will tell… As they say, so we will do,” – says TSN.Tyzhnya Alexander Tsurul.
However, everyone hopes that the facilities that have vaccinated staff will not be closed.
It seems that for the tourism business, except for the population to be vaccinated and “wait for the weather from the mountains”, there is no clear algorithm of action from officials. Something similar for a vacationer. Therefore, in the second year of the pandemic, a lot of questions remain: Will the lift be closed to everyone if there is one unvaccinated passenger? Will an unvaccinated guest be evicted from the hotel? Will the entire resort be closed if not 100 percent of the staff is vaccinated? And what will happen to the rest of the vaccinated guests? Finally, in European countries, the sphere of recreation and service has long and successfully checked visitors’ certificates and has clear algorithms of action, and in Ukraine, Ukrainian government officials traditionally put out fires when everything is already “burned”.:
