“The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Professor Nachman Ash, has approved the recommendation of the IDF and the Coronavirus Vaccine Advisory Group to vaccinate children aged 5-11 with the coronavirus vaccine,” the Israeli Ministry of Health said.

As stated, in his justification, Nachman Ash explained that the vast majority of committee members believe that the vaccine has a good safety profile.
Efficacy data presented by Pfizer indicate 91% efficacy in disease prevention in children aged 5-11 years in a controlled clinical trial. Most experts believe that the benefits of the vaccine at this age outweigh the risks associated with it, the ministry said.
“The start of vaccination for this age group will be determined in the coming days,” the agency added.
