FULL-vaccinated travelers from countries with a low incidence of COVID-19 will be allowed to enter the Philippines. There is no exact date yet.
Last year, due to coronavirus restrictions in the Philippines, where diving is developed and there are many tropical islands, the number of foreign tourists decreased by 83%. Then the country was visited by almost 1.4 million visitors compared to almost 8.2 million in 2019.
“Allowing tourists from countries in the green zone or areas where the majority of the population has been vaccinated, as well as those with low levels of infection, will greatly help in our recovery efforts,” said Tourism Minister Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
The Philippines has put Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and India on its green list.
Neighboring countries Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia have also announced the opening of borders following a successful local vaccination campaign.
