kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 23,2021- A forest fire broke out in the province of Antalya in the Kas resort area of unknown cause.
The TV channel stated that “a fire broke out in the forest area of Kas district in Antalya for an unknown reason.”
Thanks to the intervention of the firefighters, the fire was brought under control and cooling work was underway.
From late July to mid-August, Turkey suffered from extensive forest fires. Ukraine was one of the first countries to respond to the request for help – it sent planes and helicopters to Turkey to fight forest fires.
In total, about 160,000 hectares of forest were destroyed during forest fires this year. The fires damaged 30,000 hectares of forests in Manavgat, 12,600 hectares in Bodrum, 8,000 hectares in Marmaris and 6,500 hectares around Guselbaga in Antalya.
Turkey’s Defense Ministry has released images of areas destroyed by forest fires in the south and southwest of the country, taken from space. According to police, some of the forest fires may have occurred as a result of arson.
In the forest areas affected by fires, active work is underway to restore plantations .
