kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 29,2021- Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has been referred to a court in Tbilisi to hear the case of the November 2007 campaign targeting the rally and demolition of Imedi’s office.
It should be noted that today the court will consider the case for the first time in the presence of Saakashvili. So far, he has not participated in court sessions, even from a distance, and his defenders have stated that the politician is in poor health.
On October 1, Georgian ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili was reportedly detained in Georgia, where several criminal cases have been filed against him. The next day, it became known that Saakashvili had gone on a hunger strike.
On November 8, he was transferred to the №18 prison hospital in the Gldan district of Tbilisi from the Rustavi prison.
On November 18, the 49th day of the hunger strike, Saakashvili fainted and was taken to the intensive care unit.
The Georgian ex-president was later taken to a military hospital in Gori as his health deteriorated. There Saakashvili ended his hunger strike.
