kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 30,2021- Coal reserves in thermal power plants (TPPs) deposits amounted to 368.9 thousand tons as of November 29, 2021, which is 2.3% more than reserves on November 22.
“As of the morning of November 29, the total coal reserves in the reservoirs of thermal power plants amounted to 368.9 thousand tons, including gas – 263.6 thousand tons and anthracite – 105.3 thousand tons,” he said in a statement.
As of November 22, there were 360,5 thousand tons of coal in TPP deposits.
It is noted that as of 10:00 on November 29, 2 units and 2 buildings of TPP with a total capacity of 1.05 GW (1 unit at Burshtyn and Zaporizhzhya TPPs, and 1 building at Trypilska and Slovyanska TPPs) were in emergency repair, then as of the morning of November 22 – 2 buildings of TPP with a total capacity of 0.55 GW. In addition, according to the manufacturers, due to lack of fuel, 20 units and 1 building of TPP and CHP with a total capacity of 7.04 GW (as of the morning of November 22 – 20 units of TPP and CHP with a total capacity of 7 GW) can not work.
TPPs last week increased electricity production by 8.4% to 773.6 million kWh. At the same time, a total of three units of Kyiv CHP-6 and CHP-5 and one unit of Kharkiv CHP-5 were operating during the week, which generated electricity from gas. Due to this, the generation of CHP increased by 14.2% compared to the previous week to 236.2 million kWh.
As it was reported, Ukraine has so far contracted 11 ships with coal, and additional deliveries are expected in December.
The first of DTEK’s seven contracted coal vessels from the United States and Colombia arrived in Ukraine on November 20. Coal is intended for supply to Centerenergo.
