“Today, the CDC is stepping up its recommendations on booster doses for people 18 and older. All people 18 years of age and older should be revaccinated either 6 months after their initial Pfizer or Moderna vaccination or 2 months after their initial J&J vaccination, ”the statement said.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the importance of revaccination is due to the spread of a new strain of coronavirus Omicron (B. 1.1.529).
The CDC has strongly recommended that 47 million adults who have not yet been vaccinated be vaccinated as soon as possible, and that children and adolescents in their families be vaccinated to boost immunity.
Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said that as the new Omicron coronavirus strain approached the United States, the “fifth wave” of COVID-19 could threaten.
The US government is also developing a plan in case of possible outbreaks across the country after the emergence of a new strain of COVID-19 Omicron.
