kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – December 1,2021- President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed in an annual message on the internal and external situation in Ukraine that airports are currently being built in 16 cities of Ukraine.
“For the first time in many years, the new national air carrier will be able to fly to the new regional airports we are building. In total, we are currently building in 16 cities of Ukraine,” the President stressed.
He noted that a new airport of international importance will also be built in Transcarpathia between Uzhhorod and Mukachevo and two more civilian airports in eastern Ukraine.
As President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a speech at the forum “Big construction: aviation. Tourism” the start of the national carrier, the construction and reconstruction of airports and the revival of Ukrainian aircraft are the main goals of the government in the coming years.
According to the Minister of Infrastructure, in the east of Ukraine they plan to build one airport near Mariupol and another – between Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. Construction of the runway of the new airport in Transcarpathia will begin in 2022.
