“Three resolutions on the protection of the eastern border will come into force tomorrow. The most important of them concerns the ban on staying in the area where the state of emergency used to operate. We are introducing rules for three months,” the statement said.
Therefore, the ban will apply from December 1, 2021 to March 1, 2022.
In August, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia accused Belarus of using illegal migrants as weapons in the so-called hybrid war against the EU. In a joint statement, the prime ministers of these countries called on the UN to take measures against the Belarusian leadership.
As part of the fight against the flow of illegal migrants, Poland has begun construction of a fence on the border with Belarus.
On November 8, the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border worsened. Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that troops were stationed along the country’s border due to the tense situation with migrants.
