kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – December 5,2021- Due to technical problems, the launch of the Atlas V launch vehicle with US and NASA satellites, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed.
“The launch of the Atlas V rocket with the STP-3 mission in the interests of the Space Forces has been canceled. During the preparatory operations, a leak was detected in the rocket fuel supply system from the ground storage,” the statement said.
The launch will begin at the 41st launch complex at the US Space Force at Cape Canaveral in Florida.
As part of the Space Test Program-3 (STP-3) mission, the rocket is to launch into geostationary orbit at an altitude of 35.4 thousand km experimental military satellite STPSat-6 with Space and Atmospheric Burst Reporting System-3 to track space and atmospheric explosions, which was created US National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
The rocket will also launch into orbit for NASA experimental satellite LCRD – Laser Communications Relay Demonstration.
