How to keep warm in severe cold not only with a hat, scarf and a cozy sweater, but also with perfume?
Incomparable “winter” perfumes that will make you warmer. How to keep warm in severe cold not only with a hat, scarf and a cozy sweater, but also with perfume?
In the XVI century, perfume came into vogue because it solved a very specific problem – masked not the most pleasant smell of leather and natural fur. Back in the middle of the XIX century, the Frenchman Alfons Ralle, who founded a perfume factory in Moscow, invented the “winter perfume”, or “fur perfume” – to smell sables or leather gloves at the time was very fashionable. Modern perfumers, on the contrary, themselves seek to recreate the spirit of warm clothing, but attract them, mainly not leather gloves and fur coats, and wool and cashmere, their softness and warmth .

Wool and cashmere
Natural wool has a very pleasant aroma. In Hugo Boss Wool & Musk, the wool chord was created with musk, cinnamon and sandalwood. Chypre Luigi Borrelli Vicuña Wool reproduces the warmth and comfort of this material with deep tones of vetiver, patchouli and spices. Luigi Borrelli also has cashmere (Cashmere) – a combination of woody accord, spices and incense. In Franck Boclet in Franck Boclet Cashmere Cashmere is spicy-balsamic with nuances of suede, in UER MI AB ± Cashmere it is osmanthus and amber, and in classic Donna Karan Black Cashmere it is saffron and nutmeg.
Sometimes in the descriptions of spirits there is a “note of cashmere wood”. Do not look for this plant in reference books on botany: of course, there is no cashmere tree in nature. This is the name of the substance cashmere with a soft and cozy, as if “cashmere” aroma. In 1987, musk-woody and slightly coniferous cashmere brought the fame of Cacharel LouLou, and the record content of this component can be found in Frederic Malle Dans tes Bras and Nasomatto Duro.
Flannel and gabardine
From the heating materials you can choose, for example, gabardine – in Laurent Mazzone Parfums Noir Gabardine it mimics a wine chord with a bright green galbanum start. Or flannel – a classic wood Geoffrey Beene Gray Flannel (it smells, however, an officer’s overcoat). And you can even look in the dressing room Le Vestiaire des Parfums from Yves Saint Laurent and choose the “outfit” completely. Here at your service Caftan (balms, labdanum, pink pepper), Caban, ie “pea coat” (sandalwood, osmanthus, pepper, resin), and – for more solemn occasions – violet-amber Tuxedo, ie “tuxedo”.
Most fragrances with notes of “wool” and “cashmere” should be applied to the skin. The exception is Eau de Cashmere from Guerlain. This eau de toilette with notes of bergamot, mandarin and pepper is specially created to flavor cashmere pullovers and stoles – just like in the days of Belle Époque, when they smelled primarily fur and fabric.
Experimental materials
The crackling frost to some aromas is really very to the face. Most perfumes are created by perfumers somewhere on the Mediterranean coast or in the Alps, that is, in any case in a completely different climate. For winter, we traditionally choose aromas of spicy, dense, oriental – but first came up with them for the Arabian desert and the scorching sun. So do not be afraid to experiment: try to remember the perfume you rejected in the summer – maybe the sub-zero temperature will put everything in its place. Do not limit yourself to the traditional “East”: some wine glasses, niche experiments and even aquatics are quite suitable for snowy weather.
For those who do not freeze
Well, if you are a punk for life, do not freeze in the cold and among all the insulation you choose glass, then you urgently need a cold mineral Serge Lutens Laine de Verre. “Len de Ver” … My God, in French even “glassy” sounds divine.
