Ukraine has decided to introduce a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine. It will be given, in particular, to people who have had a transplant and are living with HIV. The chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Igor Kuzin declared it on air of one of TV channels .

“A decision has already been made and it will be made public in the near future. This is an additional dose for immunocompromised people. That is, those people who receive hormone therapy, who after transplantation, for HIV-infected people, we will recommend an additional dose, the third – for the full formation of immunity, “- said Kuzin.
According to him, the issue of a booster dose is still under consideration.
“It is likely that a booster dose will be recommended no earlier than mid or late January next year. And in this we will use the recommendations of the European group of experts on immunization. And then we will see what recommendations we will implant in Ukraine. So far, it has not been recommended or approved, ”Kuzin said.

Deputy Health Minister Igor Kuzin, the state’s chief sanitary doctor, said in October this year that Ukrainians with immune problems would soon be advised to be vaccinated with an additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
Also in October, the Ministry of Health announced that it would prepare an order requiring Ukrainians with immune problems to be vaccinated with an additional dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
In early October, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended that a third dose of COVID-19 BioNTech / Pfizer and Moderna be given to immunocompromised patients 28 days after the second dose.
