But this machine is really real and has been declared “the most advanced humanoid in the world.”
The machine was named Ameca, it was created in a British laboratory and has frighteningly realistic movements and facial expressions.
Cornwall’s Engineered Arts, which positions itself as “Britain’s leading designer and manufacturer of humanoid entertainment robots”, was very inspired to introduce the car to YouTube.
Many viewers expressed surprise at how realistic and human-like the car is.
“I know we should be afraid of AI (artificial intelligence), but this is the first gynoid that didn’t scare me. It’s pretty cool,” wrote one user who watched the video.
“It’s all about the eyes. People think that the eyes are very important when it comes to something alive,” said another.
“At first I seriously thought it was computer graphics. Great job! The hands also look very well made,” said a third.
Some have compared Ameca to the NS-5 robot from the 2004 science fiction film “I, the Robot” starring Will Smith, which depicts an anti-utopian world where smart machines hold public office.
The video shows the robot kneading his shoulder before opening his eyes and expressing a very convincing expression of shock or surprise.
He even blinks a few times and looks at his robotic arm with interest.
The preview ends with Ameca reaching out, captivating with the combination of mechanical limbs and connections, drives and sensor sensors given to it by the creators.
The device is certainly realistic and is one of the most advanced in its class in terms of facial expressions, but the next task will be to give this robot the ability to move.
Engineered Arts said that was still a long way off, but added that the face of their creation was built on the basis of “human-like artificial body (AI x AB)”, which boasts a “powerful operating system robot Tritium”.
It is unknown at this time how much the creators spent on their development, as their robot is still under construction.
Note that Ameca is not the first realistic robot, before it in 2016 the world was shown the humanoid Sophia, who was a clever human head with a realistic face that could blink, look around and talk.
The humanoid robot, created by the Hong Kong firm Hanson robotics, can chat, mischievously smile and even tell jokes.
The robot went down in history in October 2017, when he became a legal citizen of Saudi Arabia.
Engineered Arts hopes that Ameca will invite people to look to the future because it is “an advanced technology in the field of humanoid robots.”
“Designed specifically as a platform for the development of future technologies in robotics, Ameca is an ideal platform for humanoid robots that combines man and work,” the company said in a statement on its website.
“We strive to provide you with innovative technologies that are reliable, modular, up-to-date and easy to develop.”
Engineered Arts was founded in 2005, and its first robot was the mechanical robot Thespian.
