The shiba-inu dog, named Deng-Deng, was 1 year old when the owner brought him to the Animal Training Center. He was to be taught various commands, such as sitting, pawing, not taking anything without permission.
The man paid for a year of detention and never showed up again. For more than 7 years, the Center has been trying to force the owner to take the dog and pay off debts. Later, the Center’s staff decided to find a new and better family for the dog.
A Beijing court has ordered an 8-year-old dog up for auction after failing to find its owner. The starting price was symbolic – 78 dollars, and the auction was supposed to last a day, but people from all over the world began to come to the broadcast, raising bids every time. Due to this, the auction had to be extended for another 5 hours.
The final bet was – 25 thousand dollars. Now Deng-Deng will go to a new family.
