In the city of Budva (Montenegro) ended the European Youth Boxing Championship 2020, which was attended by 175 athletes from 22 countries of the Old World, UNN reports with reference to the FBU.
In general, the tournament was extremely successful for the national team of Ukraine, which won 15 medals of various kinds in Budva. Among them – 3 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals. This is the second indicator among all countries participating in this year’s competition and one of the best results in all years of the Ukrainian team’s participation in the European Championships.
Ilya Tohobytskyi in the weight category up to 75 kg, Mykita Gorbatenko in the category up to 91 kg and Yuriy Zakhareyev, representing the weight category up to 69 kg, became the European champions following the results of the final matches.
The silver medalists of this year’s continental championship were: Roman Litvinov (52 kg), Vasyl Tkachuk (over 91 kg), Marina Stoyko (64 kg), Anna Sezko (69 kg) and Yana Taranenko (81 kg).
Danilo Dryzhak (49 kg), Hennadiy Maslennikov (60 kg), Bozorboy Matyakubov (64 kg), Denis Salabay (81 kg), Kateryna Bodnarchuk (54 kg), Raisa Piskun (75 kg) and Victoria Levchuk (+81 kg).
We will add that our team achieved one of the best results in its history in terms of the number of medals won. For example, at the youth Euro-2019 young Ukrainians had nine medals, including 1 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze awards.
