Gingerbread house from royal chefs: recipe and decorating instructions

It is not difficult to make such a house yourself, especially if you follow these detailed instructions.
On the eve of Christmas, the chefs of the royal kitchens shared their recipe for the perfect gingerbread house.

Gingerbread dough
Ingredients:
1 kg of flour
14 g of soda
28 g of ground ginger
14 g of ground cinnamon
355 g of butter
500 g of brown sugar
140 g of eggs
175 g of golden syrup
Preparation:
- Mix flour, baking soda and spices.
- Add the cold butter, cut into cubes, and continue to stir until you get a crumb.
- Add sugar and stir quickly.
- Then add eggs and syrup and mix to form a dough.
- Divide into 2 parts, mix by hand and level.
- Wrap in cling film and refrigerate for several hours. Roll out a dough 5 mm thick for parts of the house, and about 3 mm for small decorative details.
- Cut out the shapes of the gingerbread house according to the template (you can download the template on the royal website or draw your own).
- Lay out the elements of the house on a baking sheet and cool again before baking.
- For windows, place crushed lollipops in the cut-outs. They will melt during baking.
Baking
Preheat the oven with a fan to 165 degrees
Bake the house for 18+ minutes
Bake small details for 12+ minutes
Royal glaze
Ingredients:
1.5 kg of powdered sugar
200 g of egg white
50 g of lemon juice
Preparation:
- Sift powdered sugar and mix with egg white and lemon juice by hand before placing in the mixer.
- Beat together on low speed for about 2 minutes, then scrape off the sides and beat well again.
- Continue stirring on low speed for about 5 more minutes until the icing reaches a peak creamy consistency.
- To finish the gutter you need to dilute the glaze with a little water.
- To assemble the gingerbread house, use a solid glaze .
