The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, signed the Law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Concerning the Protection of Public Health from the Harmful Effects of Tobacco” (№4358). The document, as stated on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, was submitted for signature to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky .

“I have just signed a law on public health protection from the harmful effects of tobacco. I am sure that each of us will feel the positive changes that will come to the country with this law,” Stefanchuk wrote.

According to him, electronic smoking devices have not been recognized as tobacco products in Ukraine for a long time. Although they are also harmful.
“Of course, this was used by tobacco corporations to advertise electronic smoking devices everywhere. Now it will be over once and for all. The era of flavored cigarettes, advertising, sales promotion, sponsorship and smoking in public places of heating devices has come to an end,” he said. .

At its sitting on December 16, the Verkhovna Rada passed the “anti-tobacco” bill № 4358, which provides for a ban on smoking electronic cigarettes in public institutions. The corresponding decision was supported by 317 people’s deputies.
Note that the law provides for a ban on advertising and promotion of sales of electronic cigarettes and liquids to them.
It is noted that the fine for their sale to persons under 18 years of age will be 1,020 hryvnias, and in case of repeated violations during the year – 10,200 hryvnias.
It is also forbidden to smoke e-cigarettes in all public places and premises by analogy with smoking regular cigarettes.
In addition, smoking e-cigarettes is prohibited at airports, except in designated areas.
