Why it is better not to eat at night. It is better to refrain from eating before going to bed.
There are many myths surrounding the weight loss process, and perhaps the most popular is the ban on eating after 6 p.m. Elsewhere, it’s not exactly a myth, eating at night is really very harmful, just do not necessarily limit yourself after 18:00. The first thing to remember: at night sleeps not only the brain but the whole body. When we fall asleep, all processes, including digestion, slow down. If you eat something just before bed, the gut, which has almost fallen asleep, is trying hard to cope with the amount of food, but it is unlikely to succeed. Food is not digested properly, is not absorbed into the walls of the small intestine, and in the large intestine is exposed to pathogenic microflora, which leads to the formation of toxins. This can lead to malaise, abdominal pain and heaviness and, of course, weight gain.
Another danger of late meals is the release of insulin into the blood. It happens every time we eat, providing the body with energy. You do not need energy at night, so increasing the level of insulin disrupts the process of redistribution of sugar in the liver and adipose tissue, due to which the body accumulates excess fat. Also, the closer to bedtime is your last meal, the more likely you are to wake up broken.
If a few hours before bedtime you still want a snack – drink a glass of yogurt. 2 hours will be enough for the product to be digested, and the body will be able to get the most out of it. Kefir is rich in calcium, but contains much less lactose than milk. There are also few calories in the drink, so it is perfect for anyone who is watching their weight.
