“From January 13, 2022, Almaty International Airport will resume operations. According to the preliminary information of the airport management, domestic and international flights will be operated from 8:00 to 21:00 according to the airline’s flight schedule, ”the statement reads.

Earlier, due to mass protests in Kazakhstan, airports stopped working. Protests in Kazakhstan erupted after gas prices doubled on January 1, from 60 tenge to 120 tenge per liter.
Last week it became known about the seizure of Almaty airport as a result of rallies in Kazakhstan. Kazakh President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev has said that “terrorist gangs” have seized an airport and five planes in the city.
On January 10, Kazakh authorities said the situation had stabilized and was “under control.” The airports resumed normal operation, with the exception of Almaty and Taldykorgan airports.
At the same time, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, international flights with Nur Sultan have been completely restored, except for some flights of European airlines. In particular, regular flights to Kyiv are scheduled for January 13 and 16.
