The volume of cargo handling in Ukrainian ports in 2021 decreased by 3.6%
In 2021, the volume of cargo handling in Ukrainian ports decreased by 3.6% compared to the same period in 2020.

In the Odesa region, where the largest Ukrainian ports are located, the largest decline was shown by the southern port, where the volume of transshipment decreased by 13.3% to 53.5 million tons. The reduction affected the entire line of cargo. The smallest decline – 2.1% – showed container handling.
The port of Odessa reduced transshipment by 3.4% (to 22.6 million tons). At the same time, bulk cargo handling increased by 47% to 2.6 million tons, grain transshipment decreased by 10.2% to 5.8 million tons, ferrous metals transshipment fell to 4.9 million tons (down 16.9%) ), container handling decreased by 2.3%.
The growth of transshipment was demonstrated by the Black Sea port – by 7.3% – up to 25.6 million tons. In particular, grain transshipment increased by 9.2% to 14.5 million tons, metallurgical products in the port were transshipped 988 thousand tons – 32.5% more than a year ago. The transshipment of oil products also increased by 59.7%. The decrease was shown only by oil overload – 871 thousand tons – 34.2% less than in 2020.
