What was before
At the end of last year, the Ministry of Defense issued an order to significantly expand the list of professions that require women to enlist in the military. The list, approved by order of the Ministry of Defense, covers hundreds of specialties and professions. Thus, media and communicators of all categories were added to the list – journalists, cameramen, publicists, publishers, librarians, translators, doctors, analysts, financiers, scientists, managers, veterinarians, etc.
On December 23, the MOU and the Armed Forces went to a briefing with explanations about the innovations, which caused considerable public response. According to the information announced at the briefing, women should be registered by the end of 2022. At the same time, it cannot be ruled out that these deadlines will be extended.
All women between the ages of 18 and 60 who have been identified by the Ministry of Defense and who are eligible for health reasons should be registered. Pregnancy and the presence of young children do not cancel the obligation.
In case of violation of the rules of military accounting, citizens, as announced, would have to pay a fine of up to 1.5 thousand UAH, and employers – up to 8.5 thousand UAH.
It later became known that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine intends to revise the list of professions for military registration of women.
