Do not take too hot or too long a shower
Hot shower on a cold day – which may be better, but hot water – the enemy of dry skin. A hot shower causes increased evaporation of moisture (natural moisture) from your skin.
Do not take a shower for too long. You will need about 10 minutes. To moisturize the skin already in the shower, replace the foam with a cleansing oil – oily, rich in lipids to strengthen the protective skin barrier.
Use a thick moisturizer
After you wet the skin with a towel, apply a moisturizer. For winter, choose a balm for the face and body. Its denser texture “covers” the moisturizing components in dry, flaky or cracked skin, which promotes intensive recovery. Experts suggest using balms with silicone, Vaseline, lanolin and natural oils.
If you do not want to apply a product with a thick texture on the face, use a serum with hyaluronic acid and glycerin. Use it in the evening after cleansing the skin.
Switch to moisturizing makeup
In the cold months, replace dry pressed make-up with cream formulas (foundation, blush, shadows) that contain moisturizing ingredients such as glycerin and vitamin E. Your makeup will not emphasize peeling, and the skin will remain moisturized all day.
Wash your face once a day
In autumn, when the humidity is high, or in summer you will not harm your skin if you wash in the morning and evening. But in winter it is enough to wash once before going to bed so as not to overdry it. For cleansing, use products with a creamy texture, with oils or micellar water – this soft liquid removes makeup and usually does not require rinsing.
Moisturize
In the evening, as well as in the morning, apply a moisturizer on the skin. Choose nourishing creams with extracts of chamomile, calendula, violet tricolor and rosemary leaves, almond oil, beeswax.
Remember the humidity
Do not go to bed without a humidifier. Batteries that keep your home warm keep the air dry, which is bad for your skin. Use a humidifier to saturate the air with moisture. The moisturizer will also clean the sinuses, so this is a very good investment.
