Germany will open a hydrogen diplomacy bureau in Ukraine
The German Bureau of Hydrogen Diplomacy will accelerate the launch of industrial hydrogen production in Ukraine.

The relevant intention was announced by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Annalena Burbock at a meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba. Yesterday, January 17, as part of the Ukrainian-German dialogue and cooperation on hydrogen, Burbock
met with representatives of UBTA, the Energy Association Ukrainian Hydrogen Council and Ukrainian business.
During the discussion, the participants discussed key topics, namely:
- the state of development of the Hydrogen Strategy of Ukraine,
- activities within the framework of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership,
- hydrogen research and initiatives,
- hydrogen projects in Ukraine.
The decision to open a hydrogen diplomacy bureau in Ukraine at UBTA was praised.
“There are many challenges on the road to energy independence, both technological, resource and financial. The Ukrainian Business and Trade Association is ready to sign a memorandum of understanding with the German Bureau of Hydrogen Diplomacy, and join the joint work to develop a practical hydrogen strategy for Ukraine and promote hydrogen projects in our country. UBTA says that the Hydrogen Diplomacy Bureau will facilitate the implementation of a number of hydrogen projects aimed at implementing the European Green Course and Ukraine’s decarbonisation policy, as well as raising the issue of energy cooperation between our countries, energy security of Ukraine, Germany and the EU.
