Earlier, the spokesman said that Ukrainians were stuck in Istanbul due to bad weather, but thanks to the work of consuls, they were accommodated in hotels and provided with food.
The Foreign Ministry is cooperating with the Turkish side to launch the canceled flights as soon as possible and return Ukrainian citizens home.
Context
Europe’s busiest airport in Istanbul closed earlier this week after a large-scale blizzard covered areas of the eastern Mediterranean, causing power outages and road chaos.
Rescue crews in Istanbul and Athens reportedly cleared snow-covered roads on Tuesday. However, the airport remained closed.
