Three steps higher: Ukraine has risen in the ranking of the strongest armies in the world
In the world ranking of military power, Ukraine took 22nd place. This is evidenced by data from the international company Global Firepower Index 2022, which annually ranks the world’s best armies .

During the year, Ukraine rose to three positions. In 2022, the Ukrainian Army’s PowerIndex is 0.3266 (0.0000 is considered “ideal”). In 2021 this figure was 0.4396, in 2020 – 0.4457.
In the ranking, Ukraine is located between Taiwan and Canada, their strength index is 0.3215 and 0.3601, respectively.
When compiling the rating, experts take into account more than 50 factors, including: the number of troops, the level of technical equipment, funding, the use of modern technology and logistics capabilities.
The first place is traditionally occupied by the United States.
The top ten also includes: Russia, China, India, Japan, South Korea, France, Britain, Pakistan and Brazil.
In total, the army of 140 countries was evaluated this year.

In the updated ranking of world passports, Ukraine rose from 37th to 35th place. Holders of Ukrainian passports can travel without a visa to 141 countries.
