Opposition to aid Ukraine has recently been demonstrated in Germany.
On January 18, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that Germany was pursuing a strategy of abandoning the export of lethal weapons.
According to him, Germany adheres to this strategy in the Russia-NATO Council, within the OSCE, in bilateral talks between the United States and Russia, as well as in negotiations within the “Norman format”.
At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that Kyiv does not lose hope to agree on this with Berlin.
Later, the head of the German navy, Deputy Prime Minister Kai-Achim Schenbach, said that Ukraine would not be able to return the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Earlier this week, Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany, Andriy Melnyk, said Berlin’s decision to send 5,000 military helmets to Ukraine as military aid was just a “drop in the ocean”.
