Domestic poultry farming has grown – statistics
The number of poultry has increased in Ukraine. This is evidenced by data from the State Statistics Service .

Thus, during the year the number of poultry in Ukraine increased by 3.8% to 208 million.
In particular, the number of poultry in individual farms is 88 million. The number of poultry in agricultural enterprises on January 1 was 119 million, compared to 109 million a year earlier.
At the same time, the number of pigs in Ukraine decreased by 5.8% over the year, the number of sheep and goats – by 4.1%, the number of cattle – by 6.4%.

During the year, exports of Ukrainian chicken increased by 30%. Thus, in 2021 Ukraine exported chicken for 716 million dollars, while in 2020 – for 554 million dollars.
The main buyers of Ukrainian poultry abroad since the beginning of the year have been Saudi Arabia ($ 189 million), the Netherlands ($ 136 million) and Slovakia ($ 40 million).
Ukraine’s largest producer and exporter of chicken, the international company MHP Yuri Kosyuk, in 2021 exported 402.3 thousand tons of chicken against 373.7 thousand tons in 2020 (+ 8%). In the fourth quarter of last year alone, MHP was able to increase exports by 11% to 104.8 thousand tons of chicken.
