During the meeting, Ukrainian and European experts analyzed the implementation of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine for 2018-2022, including projects to strengthen European human rights standards in Ukraine, protect the rights of internally displaced persons and national minorities, combat violence against women and children .
The parties paid special attention to the reform of criminal justice, judicial reform, decentralization, the fight against cybercrime and ways to improve the electoral process in Ukraine.
They also discussed proposals for the preparation of a new Action Plan of the Council of Europe for our country for 2023-2026, work on which should be completed by the end of this year.

The Council of Europe Action Plans for Ukraine are strategic documents implemented since 2005 to assist Ukraine in fulfilling its responsibilities as a member state of the Council of Europe, as well as in fulfilling international legal norms for the Association Agreement with the EU.
The current Action Plan for 2018-2022 is the largest of its kind with a total funding of about 36 million euros. This demonstrates the special cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe, which contributes to the harmonization of Ukrainian legislation, institutions and practices with European standards in the field of human rights, rule of law and democracy.
