The best universities according to Webometrics include 313 Ukrainian universities: which are in the top .
In January 2022, the National Research Council of Spain published the next edition of the international ranking of universities in the world Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics), which included 313 universities in Ukraine. This was reported in the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine .

Thus, it is noted that the top ten best institutions of higher education in Ukraine include:
- Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;
- National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute named after Igor Sikorsky”;
- Sumy State University;
- National Aviation University;
- Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics;
- VN Karazin Kharkiv National University;
- National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”;
- National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine;
- National University “Lviv Polytechnic”;
- National Technical University “Dnieper Polytechnic”.

The Webometrics initiative was launched by the Cybermetrics Lab, a group of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC), Spain’s largest research institution. The ranking of higher education institutions is updated regularly to take into account indicators that take into account the work of teachers, the results of their research, reflected in Google Scholar Citations, the international recognition of educational institutions and its relationships with the community.
