“I think that in February-March the number of people who want to go to work will increase, and this is facilitated by the legislative changes taking place in Poland,” said Voskoboynyk.
Details
He noted that most of the people, including those with whom he communicates, expected these changes and have not yet left for Poland.
“Today we can say that this (increase in the number of people willing to go to work abroad – ed.) Is not only due to the desire of the people. In Poland, there are very significant changes in legislation. From January 28, Ukrainians will be allowed to receive so-called “declarations” or invitations to work for up to two years.
Thus, on January 28, changes for foreigners came into force in Poland, in particular when considering applications for work and residence permits. For example, from January 28, 2022, work permits (“certification”) will be issued to foreigners (for citizens of Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova, Russia) for a period of 24 months.
In addition, Voskoboynyk noted that today we can see an increase in demand for Ukrainian migrant workers.
“As COVID restrictions gradually disappear, the economies of Europe and the world begin to grow rapidly, and the demand for Ukrainian migrant workers increases. But we need to clearly understand that on the one hand, Ukraine has already formed a stratum of the population – about 13-16% of the population of Ukraine – people involved in labor migration, “he said.
According to him, this percentage remains almost unchanged.
“But on the other hand, the demographic situation in Ukraine is very terrible. We have a constantly declining number of both the current population and the solvent one. In this regard, it can be said that the percentage of labor migration remains almost constant, and in quantitative terms, ie the number of people leaving, this labor migration is beginning to decline, and this process will continue in the coming years. According to demographers, by the end of 2030 Ukraine will have 3 million fewer able-bodied people. Because people will die and grow old, so, of course, some of these people will not go to work abroad, “said Voskoboynyk.
Addition
Earlier, Vasyl Voskoboynyk reported that more than 60% of Ukrainians work legally in Poland and about 10% in Germany.
