The country’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that after the new medical recommendations, the new rules at the borders will come into force on February 21.
“Condition: you must be vaccinated in two doses to come to Australia. This is the rule. Everyone is expected to follow it,” he said.
Home Secretary Karen Andrews said unvaccinated travelers would still need to apply for permission to enter Australia and be quarantined at the hotel if given.
The channel noted that Morrison said the government had determined that people should receive a full course of vaccination, which usually consists of two doses, but some vaccines require only one dose to be considered vaccinated.
