Ukraine has updated the record for poultry meat exports

According to him, last year the absolute record for the volume of poultry meat exports was renewed – 459 thousand tons. Also, the cost of its sale increased by 29%, reaching 716 million dollars.
“In general, in 2021, Ukraine managed to increase revenue from exports of meat and offal by 30% – up to 846 million dollars. In addition to the growth of foreign sales of poultry meat, there was also an increase in the segment of frozen beef, “said the expert.
Dukhnytskyi added that last year there was a further diversification of sales of meat and offal of Ukrainian production. Currently, domestic meat products are exported to the Middle East, other parts of Asia, the European Union, the CIS and Africa. At the same time, the share of EU countries in terms of value was 24%, the expert said.
“A characteristic feature of 2021 was the further strengthening of the position of Saudi Arabia, which in 2020 for the first time topped the ranking of importers of Ukrainian meat. This Middle Eastern country buys exclusively poultry meat from Ukraine. At the same time, she made her first purchases in 2015. And already in 2020, the export of Ukrainian poultry meat to Saudi Arabia reached 83 thousand tons worth 136 million dollars, “- said the expert, adding that last year Saudi Arabia bought 101 thousand tons of Ukrainian meat products worth 190 million, increasing its share in our exports to 22.5%.
In turn, the Netherlands holds the second place – with the volume of purchases of Ukrainian meat about 58 thousand tons worth 136 million dollars, said Dukhnytsky.
The shares of China (7.2%), the UAE (4.7%), Slovakia (4.7%), Azerbaijan (3.9%), Belarus (3.6%) and Kazakhstan (3.5) are also significant. %).
In general, these countries brought 2/3 of the income from the sale of meat to Ukraine on the global market, “said the expert.
Throughout 2021, Ukrainian exporters were banned from supplying chicken to the European Union from those regions of our country where bird flu was detected, the expert reminded.
“However, this did not significantly affect the final indicators,” Dukhnytskyi concluded.

Ukraine’s largest producer and exporter of chicken, the international company MHP Yuri Kosyuk, in 2021 exported 402.3 thousand tons of chicken against 373.7 thousand tons in 2020 (+ 8%). In the fourth quarter of last year alone, MHP was able to increase exports by 11% to 104.8 thousand tons of chicken.
