“Apple is giving companies the ability to accept contactless payments through Tap to Pay on the iPhone. Later this year, retailers in the United States will be able to accept Apple Pay and other contactless payments simply by using the iPhone and the iOS affiliate program,” the company said.

Tap to Pay on the iPhone is expected to allow companies to “seamlessly and securely” accept Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards and other digital wallets “just by touching the iPhone.”
The service will run on iPhone XS and later models. “All transactions with Tap to Pay on the iPhone are encrypted and processed using Secure Element, and, as in the case of Apple Pay, Apple does not know what and who is buying,” the company said.
Tap to Pay on the iPhone is said to work with contactless credit and debit cards from leading payment networks, including American Express, Discover, Mastercard and Visa.
