Oil quotes are declining in trading on Monday, November 30, on expectations of the results of the OPEC conference.
On the London ICE Futures Exchange, January North Sea Brent blend futures fell $ 0.58, or 1.2%, to trade at $ 47.6 a barrel. On Friday, Brent crude rose by $ 0.38, or 0.8%, to $ 48.18 per barrel.
In electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), January futures for US WTI crude oil fell $ 0.62, or 1.36%, and traded at $ 44.91 a barrel. In the previous session, the contract lost $ 0.18, or 0.8%, to $ 45.53 per barrel.
The OPEC + conference is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1. The ministers are expected to decide on the possibility of extending the current restrictions on oil production under the OPEC + agreement. On Sunday, the co-chairs gathered JMMC members for an informal meeting, however, Bloomberg reported that no consensus was found, as Kazakhstan and the UAE opposed.
According to estimates, writes S&P Global Platts, over the past week oil benchmark grades – Brent and WTI – rose more than 7% on news of the effectiveness of the coronavirus vaccine, which is being developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, as well as reducing political uncertainty in the United States thanks to the beginning of the transfer of power Joe Biden.
It should be reminded that the majority of gas supply companies that announced tariffs as of November 25 decided not to raise prices for natural gas for the population in December and left them at the same level. Thus, Naftogaz, Megawatt and Yasno did not raise tariffs. They will supply gas to the population at prices of 6.33, 6.22 and 6.49 UAH / cubic meter, respectively. At the same time, Askania Energy and KREMENCHUGGAZ-TRADING reduced tariffs from 7.25 to 6.69 UAH / cubic meter and from 7.3 to 6.9 UAH / cubic meter, respectively.
