The researchers invited 80 young people to study, all of whom were overweight and slept 6.5 hours a day. The study lasted four weeks. Participants in the experiment were not restricted in food, and they could sleep in their bed. They lived a normal life, only went to bed earlier. Calorie intake was monitored by a special urine test. It turned out that people who slept, quite naturally reduced their intake by 270 calories, and some even by 500 calories.
