Ukraine Gate – Kiev – February 20, 2022- The Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture said that its grain exports continue and have not been affected by current events.
According to the data of Ukrainian ports provided by the consulting agency UkrAgroConsult, the shipments of grain from the sea terminals amounted to 867 thousand tons, including 170 thousand tons of wheat, 54 thousand tons of barley and 643 thousand tons of corn.
These export rates are in line with Ukraine’s record harvest in 2021 and exceed last year’s shipments.
In the first two weeks of February shipped:
Wheat – 548 thousand tons.
Barley – 98 thousand tons.
Corn – 2.25 million tons.
Despite alarming reports of a possible blockade of Ukrainian ports due to the Russian fleet’s military exercises currently near Ukraine, there are no obstacles to the export of grain from Ukraine.
According to the report of market operators, shipments are carried out in the normal mode, and no periods of suspension or delay of shipments were recorded.
Today, the report added, there is a slight decrease in grain exports; So there are no risks from excessive wheat exports.
The domestic demand for cereals is about 20 million tons, which makes it possible to export about 65 million tons of cereals and legumes.
It is reported that the markets of 32 countries are open for the export of Ukrainian products.
It is reported that Ukraine ranks fourth in terms of exports of organic products to the European Union.
