The UN has announced that it will immediately allocate $ 20 million to expand UN humanitarian operations in Ukraine due to the Russian attack. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Associated Press.

Assistance will be directed to emergency operations along the line of contact in Donbas and other parts of the country, as well as medical care, shelter, food and water, water and sanitation for the most vulnerable people affected by the conflict.
“With the rise in mortality, we see images of fear, torment and terror in every corner of Ukraine. People, ordinary innocent people, always pay the highest price, ”said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
He added that the UN and its partners “are committed to staying and helping, supporting people in Ukraine when needed.”
The UN World Food Company team says it is working on the ground and ready to help.
“We call on all parties to ensure that affected communities have constant access to any humanitarian support they may need and that the safety of humanitarian personnel on the ground is guaranteed,” said program director David Bezley.
Peter Maver, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross, said that Russia’s attack on Ukraine “threatens the scale of death and destruction, which is scary to imagine.”
“Under the security situation, our teams in Ukraine will continue to work on repairing vital infrastructure, supporting medical facilities with medicines and equipment, and supporting families with food and hygiene items,” he said.
