The average landing ship L401 “Yuri Olefirenko” returned to the service of the Ukrainian Navy after the scheduled repairs.

It is noted that during the repair work, which began in June 2020, the company’s specialists restored the ship’s hull, shaft lines of the helm-stern and deadwood systems, protectors, bottom-intake equipment and more.
“The ship successfully passed running tests and left the water area of the enterprise – it was transferred to the state customer”, – the director of the Nikolaev shipbuilding plant Valery Kalashnikov reported.
L401 “Yuriy Olefirenko” is a medium landing ship of project 773 launched in 1970 at the Gdańsk Northern Shipyard in Poland. This is the largest ship in its class in the Ukrainian Navy, capable of landing more than 150 soldiers, or up to 10 units of armored vehicles or transporting up to 250 tons of cargo.
Ukroboronprom reminded that since the beginning of the year the company has repaired and handed over to state customers small armored artillery boats “Vyshgorod”, “Nikopol”, “Ackerman” and ” Berdyansk “, landing boat “Svatove” and anti-sabotage boat “Gola Prystan”. The specialists of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also successfully carried out field docking works in the city of Mariupol to repair the Lubny and Kremenchuk MBAKs of the Ukrainian Navy.
