The Cabinet of Ministers has regulated the rules of the road (SDA) for persons who move in wheelchairs.
The corresponding resolution was adopted at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to it, people in wheelchairs have the right to move on sidewalks, pedestrian or bicycle roads at the speed of a pedestrian, as well as move along the edge of the carriageway, street or shoulder.
In addition, they have the right to preferential crossing of the carriageway along the marked pedestrian crossings.
Also, people in wheelchairs have the right to move in the direction of movement of vehicles on the right extreme lane of the road, turning to the left and making a U-turn are allowed on roads with one lane and without a tramway in the middle.
Also, people in wheelchairs are obliged to use technically sound and properly equipped wheelchairs, not to carry passengers and goods that interfere with driving.
In addition, they are required to equip wheelchairs with reflective devices, and at night – with external light devices.
