160 people will be subject to new EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus over the attack on Ukraine

In Belarus, the SWIFT system in central banks (Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, Belagroprombank, Dabrabit) will be disabled. It will also restrict operations with the Central Bank of the Republic related to the management of reserves or assets, as well as the provision of state funding for trade and investment in Belarus. Cryptocurrencies fall under the field of “transferable securities” and further expand existing financial restrictions. There will be a ban on providing euro banknotes to Belarus.
Russia is imposing new restrictions on exports of maritime navigation and radio communications, adding the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping to its list of state-owned enterprises subject to funding restrictions, and introducing provisions for the prior exchange of information on exports of marine safety equipment.
In addition, 160 people were included in the list of those who undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. The list includes 14 oligarchs and famous businessmen and 146 members of the RF Council.
In total, according to the report, EU restrictive measures are currently applied to 862 individuals and 53 legal entities.
