The Prime Minister of Latvia Krišjanis Karinš stated that the EU should show Ukraine an “open door” for membership in the bloc,

During a meeting of the European People’s Party in Paris, Karins stressed that Ukraine needs to be granted EU candidate status.
He also noted the need to impose sanctions on Russia in the energy sector.
“If we want to stop Putin, we must stop funding him,” he added.
