“The green corridor is open. A humanitarian caravan has left Zaporizhia for Mariupol. More than 90 tons of food and medicine are going to the city, which has been under blockade for 11 days,” the city council said.

The clergy of the Orthodox Church, as indicated, took the initiative to personally accompany the humanitarian caravan.
“All in order for 400,000 Mariupol residents to receive long-awaited and critical assistance,” the mayor’s office said.

Earlier in Mariupol several times the opportunity to deliver humanitarian cargo, as well as to evacuate people from the city, was thwarted due to enemy shelling.
Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, 1,582 civilians have died in Mariupol.
