Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – March 12, 2022- Russian Chief of Staff Viktor Golevich said that Belarus has no plans to join the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but its sending five tactical battalions to its borders in rotation to replace the forces already stationed there.
A senior Ukrainian security official warned Belarus against sending troops to Ukraine, saying that Ukraine was showing restraint towards Belarus despite it being used as a staging ground for Russian planes.
“I want to emphasize that the transfer of troops is in no way connected with any preparation, in particular, with the participation of Belarusian soldiers in the special military operation on the territory of Ukraine,” Gulevich said.
