Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – March 16, 2022- In an interview with US public broadcaster PBS, Mykhailo Podoliak, an advisor to the Ukrainian president’s chief of staff, said that direct talks between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia about a ceasefire may take place in the next few days.
“The only option to end this war is to have direct talks between the two presidents, and this is what we are working on through these peace talks. We are working on documents that the two presidents can discuss and sign,” he said.
According to Podolak, this will happen soon, “because this is the only way to end this war.”
“We have great confidence that we will reach a ceasefire in the coming days,” he added.
Podolak said that the Russians used all their resources that they were planning to use in this war.
“They were planning to move in their forces, take as much territory as they could in three days, and basically have a blitzkrieg. They didn’t, and they won’t. They are stuck in combat at their current positions, and they have absolutely no chances at all to push in,” Podolak added. Ukrainian territory.
Podolyak added that Russia initially issued ultimatums, hoping that the propaganda and disinformation they had used for eight years would work, but this did not happen.
“So this was a wake-up call for them and their position has fallen dramatically,” he said.
