According to the agency, as of 7:00 am on March 19, no fires were recorded in the Kyiv region in ecosystems, in the Exclusion Zone and near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
During the day on March 18, firefighters of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv region extinguished 21 fires in open areas, namely grass fires, which were caused by careless handling of fire by citizens.
In particular, it is warned that dry burning and garbage always have a negative impact on the environment and human health. Therefore, rescuers urge citizens to stop this practice and not to burden the SES units even more during the war.
The Kyiv City State Administration also noted that there was little smoke in the capital. “This is due to changes in weather conditions, in particular the direction of the wind. According to experts, the air quality meets the standards. But please do not open the windows and do not leave the house unnecessarily,” said the Kyiv City State Administration.
