Representatives of the 3rd Infantry Battalion of Land Forces of the United Kingdom as part of the educational mission «ORBITAL» a course of conduct tactical rekohnostuvannya in urban and rural areas on the basis of the 49th Training Center in Starychi in Lviv, informs the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
Officers who successfully complete it will themselves become instructors in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The 3rd Rifle Battalion, based in Edinburgh, has been conducting combat training in the Land Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the ninth month in a row.
Since 2007, the unit’s troops have participated in six operational rotations in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as other operations.
This year, the battalion provided support to the Scottish National Health Service in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the beginning of the British training mission “ORBITAL” in Ukraine in 2015, British troops have trained more than 20,000 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
