US President Joe Biden spoke at a briefing following the G7 summit in Brussels, where world leaders agreed on their positions on the Russian-Ukrainian war. Answering questions from journalists, he said that Putin was not getting what he expected from the attack on Ukraine .

“Putin is getting just the opposite of what he wanted as a result of the invasion of Ukraine,” Biden said.
He also noted that NATO “has never been as cohesive as it is today.” Biden said sanctions “never hold back”, but added that Putin’s “increasing pain” and support for the measures he was taking would “prevent him” in the end.
