Ukraine, Ukraine gate- March 26, 2022- The official spokesman for the Pentagon said that America believes that Russia’s goal is not to control Kyiv, but rather intends to occupy the Donbass in order to cut off the Ukrainian forces in the east of the country in an attempt to build its influence.
Russia will also focus on liberating the eastern Donbas completely, and claims to have completed its first military operation to the fullest extent. Moscow has decided to limit the confrontation with the Ukrainians due to their fierce resistance during the month-long war.
The spokesman indicated that the Russian forces are getting more aggressive in the Donbass region, and they have the possibility to send the forces that Russia wants to transfer from Georgia to Ukraine.
