Lieutenant Colonel of the Slovenian Army Boštjan Lesyak has arrived in Kyiv and will work as Slovenia’s Chargé d’Affaires in Ukraine.

“The city is empty, alarms and detonations can be heard in the distance, otherwise the lives of those who remained in the capital are going normally,” Lesyak said when he arrived in Kyiv.

On March 15, 2022, the Prime Minister of Slovenia visited Kyiv with his colleagues from the Czech Republic and Poland. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with them.
On March 21, the Slovenian government announced plans to return its diplomats to Kyiv.
